The Funding Associate will work with the team to support clients with financial reporting related to grant programs for the maintenance and construction of public school facilities.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare expenditure reporting for State and locally funded grant programs.
  • Research, analyze, and validate supporting documentation.
  • Document and monitor program milestones and deadlines.
  • Analysis and reconciliation of detailed financial data.
  • Perform data entry.
  • Professionally interact with State agencies, partner firms, and school district representatives.
  • Perform other related duties to benefit the mission of the organization.

Skills/Abilities: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of financial accounting, record keeping, and auditing principles.
  • Thorough understanding of electronic spreadsheets, and word processing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, handle multiple and/or changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field is required.
  • Experience in public school district or municipal accounting equivalent to a degree may be considered.
  • Financial accounting experience is required.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Job Position Details:

  • Job Type: Exempt, Full-Time
  • Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000 per year
  • Reports to: April Thompson
  • Benefits: Medical & 401(k)
  • Work Location: On-site (Downtown Martinez, CA)
