Introducing Jennifer Roberts! Jennifer is one of our dedicated Funding Associates at King who brings a wealth of experience from her background in healthcare. Jennifer’s role is crucial in ensuring that school districts secure the necessary funding for modernization and new construction projects. Her journey to King showcases her adaptability and commitment to lifelong learning.

Transitioning Roles: From Physical Therapy to Funding Associate

Jennifer Roberts joined King two years ago after leaving her position as a physical therapist manager in a large health system. Seeking a new challenge, she found a perfect fit at King. With a strong foundation in project management and research, Jennifer transitioned smoothly into her new role.

“My current role involves researching and analyzing components of plan applications for school districts,” Jennifer explains. “I review architectural plans, cross-reference data with satellite images and historical documents, and submit applications to the California Department of Education. Once approved, we proceed with the funding applications.”

A New Path Driven by Passion

What drew Jennifer to King was the chance to learn new skills and contribute to her family’s business. “I pride myself on being a lifelong learner,” she says. “This role allowed me to explore new areas beyond the medical field and support a busy business.”

Jennifer’s healthcare background has been instrumental in her success at King. “Attention to detail is critical in both fields,” she notes. “In healthcare, missing a detail could potentially harm someone, and in my current role, it’s essential for the success of funding applications.”

Embracing a Collaborative Culture

One of the aspects Jennifer enjoys most about her job is the collaborative culture at King. She values the strong sense of teamwork and the supportive environment that the company fosters.

“Teamwork is a core value at King, much like in healthcare,” Jennifer says. “Everyone is available for questions and support, making it a welcoming and inclusive environment.”

Memorable Moments and Future Goals

For Jennifer, the best moments are when funding applications get approved. “Knowing that our work helps improve school facilities and the lives of students and staff is incredibly rewarding,” she shares.

Looking ahead, Jennifer is excited to earn her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and explore leadership opportunities. She also keeps her passion for physical therapy alive by helping out with ergonomic issues at the office, making sure everyone maintains good posture. Her dual expertise not only benefits the company but also creates a healthier work environment for all!

Beyond the Office

Outside of work, Jennifer is passionate about fitness, travel, reading, music, and community service. She serves as the president of “Operation: With Love from Home,” a nonprofit that sends care packages to troops abroad. The organization collaborates with local schools to include heartfelt letters from students, a gesture that significantly boosts morale among the recipients.

“Knowing that our work helps improve school facilities and the lives of students and staff is incredibly rewarding.”
