There’s a new face at King! Alexis Tannehill recently joined the team as our Executive Assistant, helping keep things organized and moving behind the scenes.

Alexis supports President & CEO Jamie King-Iseman and King’s directors, while also helping with day-to-day operations. She’s often one of the first people new clients hear from, whether she’s sending a welcome email, coordinating meetings, or helping the team stay on track. She’s also starting to get involved in business development as her role grows.

Learning a new industry

Before joining King, Alexis lived in Las Vegas, where she worked as an Executive Assistant for Nevada Contractors Association. Her role included government affairs work, event planning, and plenty of multitasking. Experience that has translated well to her new position at King.

The school facilities world, however, is new territory, and that’s something Alexis has enjoyed.

“I like that it’s an industry I haven’t worked in yet,” she said. “It was a bit of a challenge coming into it, which was nice—to learn a new industry and see all the work that they do for local communities.”

Staying organized (with a Diet Coke nearby)

When your job involves juggling schedules, meetings, clients, and countless moving pieces, staying organized is a must. Alexis’s strategy is simple: make a list.

“Always a list. That’s my number one go-to,” she said. “Even if it’s just making a new list on top of my other list, I love being able to cross those things off.”

The other office essential is a good Diet Coke. It’s become a bit of a running joke around the office.

As King continues to grow, Alexis is looking forward to digging even further into operations, improving existing systems and finding new ways to help the team work efficiently.

Outside the office

When she’s not at King, Alexis enjoys spending time with family, including her miniature dachshund, Moose, and has recently started getting into gardening now that she has a backyard of her own.

One thing you probably wouldn’t guess? Alexis used to raise hogs through FFA and show and sell them at fairs.

Even as someone new to the industry, Alexis has already picked up on something that sets King apart: the combination of expertise and personal relationships.

She sees a team that works to build genuine connections with clients while bringing deep industry knowledge and passion to the work.
