Position Overview

King is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Funding Associate to support our professional services team. This role focuses on guiding school districts through the complex requirements of State funding programs. You will assist with preparing eligibility applications, tracking funding status, and performing fiscal and architectural reviews to ensure compliance. Typical assignments include conducting facility eligibility analyses, preparing State forms, and submittal packages. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys financial analysis, regulatory research, and supporting clients in securing funding for their capital projects.

Salary Range

$70,000 – $80,000 

Key Responsibilities

  • Research, compile, and manage datasets from internal and external sources.
  • Review architectural drawings to identify scopes of work and perform capacity analyses.
  • Research, review, and organize historical documentation for funding compliance.
  • Enter, update, and maintain accurate data across spreadsheets, databases, and internal platforms.
  • Conduct regular data quality checks and validations.
  • Organize and structure datasets for use in client-facing reports and funding packages.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of State funding applications and eligibility documentation.
  • Collaborate with team members and clients to meet deadlines and project requirements.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience with drafting and/or interpreting architectural drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accountability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets (required).
  • General computer and internet navigation skills, including:
    • Accurate typing and numeric keypad entry
    • Logical file and folder organization
    • Locating and downloading data from online sources
  • Ability to quickly learn and utilize project management tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the California State School Facility Program (SFP) requirements and regulations.
  • Strong writing and documentation abilities.
  • Previous experience in an analytical or administrative support role.

Work Environment & Schedule

This position will begin as a full-time, in-person role (Monday–Friday) at our Sacramento location, with the potential to transition into a hybrid schedule based on performance and business needs.
