We’ve been highlighting the incredible people behind King, and today we’re excited to shine a light on the person at the helm, our President & CEO, Jamie King-Iseman!

Honing Insight

Jamie co-founded King in 1997 with her mother, Cheryl, and has since grown the firm into a trusted partner for school districts across California. She’s guided districts through complex funding programs, securing millions in State and federal dollars. One of her favorite parts? Helping clients uncover funding they didn’t know existed.

She remembers a call from a client in Southern California whose lunch shelter had suddenly collapsed. They assumed they’d just pay to fix it themselves, until Jamie told them about the Facility Hardship program, which could fully fund the project. “Typically, districts will just move forward on those projects on their own because they don’t understand that there’s an opportunity for them at the State level to get the funding they need,” Jamie explains. That one phone call turned a crisis into a fully funded solution.

Whether helping a large district modernize or a rural school recover after an emergency, Jamie and her team go above and beyond. “Clients really become like family.”

Leading with Purpose

Jamie is proud of the team culture she’s built; one that values humility, curiosity, and an authentic commitment to service. She’s equally proud of the long-standing relationships King has cultivated over the years. Some clients have been with King for more than 20 years. “That our clients stay with us for a long time says a lot about us, and I am proud of that.”

At the heart of it all is a shared purpose. “At the end of the day, everyone at King works so hard because it always comes back to the students and their educational experience in the classroom,” Jamie says. “And we believe that having safe, warm, dry facilities directly connects to the quality of the education that the students will receive.”

A Love for the Journey

Outside of work, Jamie enjoys traveling with her family and spending time outdoors. She recently checked Japan off her bucket list with a memorable trip alongside her husband and son, and she never misses the annual Fourth of July camping trip in Mendocino with close friends.

“That our clients stay with us for a long time says a lot about us, and I am proud of that.”
